Stress at work can be so overwhelming at times that we need to find some relief or an outlet. People find relief in constructive activities like exercise or hobbies. We know that exercise is beneficial for the body and is highly recommended as a stress reliever. Others turn to inappropriate outlets such as alcohol, drugs or over indulgence in food and we know the damage this behavior causes to our bodies and our lives over all. When we are in distress we should make wise decisions to manage our behavior. We must take proper care of our bodies. We should also take time to ask God for his presence and peace in our workplace when we feel this way. At times like this, it’s appropriate to take a brief retreat to someplace private to pray and share with God. Pour out your heart to him. Explain in your own words why you are stressed. This will bring you closer to Him and help you to remember that he is present and helping with the burdens you are carrying at work. His loving presence will soothe you.

Prayer-Father I am so stressed right now because _________________________________. God I have been feeling overwhelmed. I need your love and comfort and I need to know that you are here with me. Please reveal your presence so I can press forward. Amen
